The Academic Achievement and Access Center (AAAC) recognizes the importance of quality real-time auditory access to academic and co-curricular materials. Common accommodations provided include:
- Sign language interpreting or speech-to-text services
- FM systems
- Captioned media
- Volunteer peer note-takers
For students who need interpreting or speech-to-text services for classes, it is vital for the interpreter coordinator to receive a copy of your course schedule as soon as you have completed enrollment in order to plan appropriate service provision.
Additionally, if an interpreter is needed for a meeting with an advisor or faculty member, an appointment with an on-campus service (i.e. Financial Aid), or for a class-related small group project meeting, please fill out an Interpreter/CART Request form at least 5 business days in advance. If a request is made with less notice, every effort to arrange services will be made, but the AAAC cannot guarantee service provision on short notice.
